Cusco Arts Haven

IRW

Previous Project

Project

This project is working with a non-profit organisation based in the heart of Cusco that acts as a haven for children & adolescents who are at risk and live in extreme poverty. Most attend the state school's where there is a lack of creative education and this project wishes to nurture and develop the creative skills of the children.  It is open throughout the day and is run by a staff of volunteer teachers and social workers.

Children are given the opportunity to voluntarily drop in and participate in a variety of creative classes and workshops that teach them valuable skills including carpentry, handicrafts, shoe repair, cooking, music, arts and English. As well as the activities children  also come for homework support

They also  have a garden with flowers and vegetables and welcome volunteers with a  green finger!
