The School is a bilingual school located in the tropical cloud forest of Monteverde, Costa Rica. This independent school offers creative, experiential education to 220 students with an emphasis on integrating environmental education into all aspects of the school.
Well over half of the students receive significant scholarships since their families’ incomes are often less than $500 per month.
The campus is located on 106 acres of cloud forest and in garden plots maintained by each grade and on trails that wind through the forest, classes embark on journeys of exploration and discovery. There are few school settings where children so completely integrate experience, observation and formal learning into their lives.
To work to support the wonderful ethos of this school in providing a rich and nurturing learning experience especially in the areas of creativity and to incorporate progressive teaching methodology using programs, techniques and materials that promote child centered learning.
There are many ways you can assist this school as either an intern or a volunteer - whether it is sharing your creative skills in the classroom, directing a school show or assisting in the garden projects!
