Global Child Art Competition to raise awareness of Child Labor in India

We have been approached by Sri Mayapur Vikas Sangha, a non profit orignazation,working for sustainable development in the region of Mayapur,Nadia,West Bengal,India.

They are hoping to attract UK/Europe based volunteers who may work as teachers here to assist in organising the Global Art Competition who could possibly raise funds and establish contact with UK based schools.

Their main objective is to develop socio-economic conditions of rural people by implementing sustainable development programs and seek volunteers to work with them to work towards this. Please visit their website www.smvs-india.org for further information on their objectives.

To support UN Millennium Development Goal Campaign (www.millenniumcampaign.org ), they are interested in implementing the Global Child Art competition.

Objectives:

1) To provide education awareness among school children of Europe and school children of India. Regarding child labour through launching “Global Child Art Competition for Basic Education to Indian Child Labour”.

2) To organize ON THE SPOT ART CONTEST in India among 50 school children of West Bengal State of India (each school will send 10 participants to this contest).

3) To organize ON THE SPOT ART CONTEST in Europe among 50 school children of Europe (500 school children) by EUROPE BASED ORGANIZATION .

4) To develop Child Art Gallery on child labour (in the website) by EUROPE BASED ORGANIZATION.

5) To organize Child Art and information exchange among school children of India and Europe through website.

6) To organize final Art Competition come festival in Europe and distribution of prizes to selected children.

7) To distribute Art Album to 1LO, UNO, UNICEF, UNDP and UN SHOP for display globally by EUROPE BASED ORGANIZATION.

8) To reproduce selected Child Art to greetings cards, T-shirts, shopping bags, silk scarves, clothing and posters in India by Sri Mayapur Vikas Sangha (SMVS).

9) Arrangement of fair distribution of products to school children of Europe and other European countries through commercial, non-commercial and Fair Trade network in Europe by EUROPE BASED ORGANIZATION .

10) To produce video documentary films on child labour for education awareness on child labour by SMVS.

11) To establish “Child Labour Fund” in Europe by EUROPE BASED ORGANIZATION through sales promotion of child art. EUROPE BASED ORGANIZATION will also raise funds from different foundations and corporations in Europe.

12) To support UN Millennium Development Goal, EUROPE BASED ORGANIZATION will provide financial assistance to the following Projects:

---- 100 child labour basic school Projects to Indian NGOs through SMVS.

---- Vocational training Projects.

---- Fair distribution of products.

---- To carry out child labour identification and survey Projects.

---- To develop multimedia on child labour in India and disseminate to National and International Television Network and Cable T.V. Network for create awareness of the global people.
