With the recent troubles in Bolivia, government funding has been temporarily suspended to one of our children's homes and we are currently running a worldwide fundraising campaign on their behalf to do what we can to help.
La Paz is a city affected by areas of great poverty where many parents become unable to care for their children and are forced to abandon them to children's homes. There is also a high population of children who live and work on the street and the numbers are growing.
The project we work with and send creative volunteers is a home for orphaned, abused and abandoned children. It's part of a state-run temporary home and is home to around 80 children mainly between the ages of 6 and 12.
Creative Corners currently supports this project by sending creative volunteers to work as part of a unique creativity program which was started at this home in 1992 where they have their own workshop and conduct artistic activities with small groups of children. The focus of the volunteer program is to provide the emotional support and love that the children desperately lack, and give them the opportunity to express themselves through creative and artistic work thus strengthening their self-esteem.
The project now requires funds to support the daily running of the home and to support the children and we would like to raise as much as possible to do this in these difficult times.
In Bolivia almost 80% of the population are Catholic and we would like to call on Catholic communities around the world to support the children here.
Any amount small or large will be greatly appreciated.
To support this home please make a donation here:
100% of funds raised will go directly to the project.
Many thanks.
